Table tennis-Singapore coach, Liu Guodong, is set to quit as the head
coach after rejecting an "insulting and insincere" new deal from the city-state.
Liu Guodong, who led the Republic's women's table tennis team to a silver medal in Beijing in August, has turned down a two-year deal offered to him by the Singapore Table Tennis Association , local media reported on Tuesday. Why? All because he think he's very capable that the team could not live without him and he wants a better pay out of his credits.
I'm very sorry to say, i'm all but behind the decision STTA's new chief executive Chew Soo Sheng had made. Chew said. "We respect coach Liu's decision and we thank him for his contributions to the sport over the last few years." There was rumours that Liu was offered a much better salary outside of Singapore, however Liu denied it. Liu went on to claim that he quit not because of the money. "MONEY is not the issue!" But oh well, Mr. Liu, it seems that money is the only reason why you do not wish to renew your contract. That's as good as giving yourself a good two tight slap!
This is probably the last time you'd see them together. Goodbye! Time for a better coach.
